Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of 10xeffect.com.au (the “Site”) and the services offered by 10x Effect (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Site or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Our services

10x Effect provides plain-English guides about Australian small business topics, plus professional services including company registration, tax return lodgement, bookkeeping and BAS lodgement, and company closure. The specific services, scope and pricing for any engagement will be agreed with you in writing before work begins.

2. General information only — not professional advice

Articles, guides and checklists on this Site are general information only. They are not tax, legal or financial advice, and you should not rely on them as such. Tax and corporate law change frequently and apply differently in different situations. Before acting, check ato.gov.au and asic.gov.au, or speak with a registered tax agent, accountant or lawyer about your circumstances.

3. Fees and payment

Service fees are fixed and agreed before work starts. Government charges (such as ASIC fees) are charged in addition to our service fees unless stated otherwise. Payment terms will be set out in your engagement confirmation. If payment is overdue, we may pause work until the account is brought up to date.

4. Cancellations and refunds

If you cancel before we have started work, we will refund any service fee paid. Once work has started, fees cover time already spent and are generally not refundable. Government fees (for example ASIC lodgement fees) are never refundable once lodged, as they are paid to the government on your behalf.

5. Your responsibilities

To do our work properly we rely on you to provide complete and accurate information on time, respond to our requests, and meet the government deadlines we flag to you (for example BAS and tax return due dates). We are not responsible for penalties or delays caused by late or incomplete information.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees you paid for the services giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

7. Privacy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page, and continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any dispute will be dealt with in the courts of Australia.
